Helping you leave no stone unturned
when it comes to tumor biomarker testing

My Mission:

To empower patients to request, receive, and understand comprehensive biomarker testing of their tumors

My Vision:

Leave no data unexamined or unexplained to a patient

My Story

For over 20 years, I’ve helped dozens of cancer patients understand their disease, navigate 2nd opinions, get critical biomarker testing, find clinical trials, and ask technical questions. I’ve helped my immediate family, friends of friends, co-workers, and total strangers.  In this time, I learned that one of the greatest unmet needs for patients is understanding and receiving biomarker testing of their tumors.

With ever-increasing complexity of the science, technology, and innovation in oncology, patients are not getting the individual support they need to ask for and understand cancer biomarker testing, results, and their implications.  In other words, they are not being empowered to know everything they can about their own disease and its treatment.

My work in cancer has spanned academic, non-profit, big pharma, and healthcare technology industries. I believe my unique educational, career, and personal experiences have led me to my true purpose of helping patients, 1-on-1, understand the complex biology of their specific cancers.

I lost my only sister to a rare brain tumor.  She was 45. This tumor type wasn’t classified yet when she was diagnosed. Decades later, researchers found that even this extremely rare brain tumor type could be further divided into biomarker-specific categories that may now influence how it should be treated.

I dedicate my work not only to the memory of my sister, but to those who don’t understand or feel empowered to ask for biomarker testing which could radically, positively alter their treatment outcomes.

How do I know if I need a Biomarker Navigator?

If you answer "yes" to even one of these questions, you may need biomarker navigation
  • Were you diagnosed with late-stage or metastatic cancer and don’t understand what this means?
  • Do you need someone to “translate” technical reports/jargon so you can understand it?
  • Do you want to understand the biology of your cancer, including how its biomarker profile impacts its behavior and treatment?
  • Do you want to get the most biomarker information possible from your limited tissue sample?
  • Has your doctor ever said “you won’t understand” or “there is nothing actionable” regarding your biomarker test results/report?
  • Do you wish you had someone to speak in technical terms directly to your clinicians on your behalf?
If you answer "no" to even one of these questions, you may need biomarker navigation
  • Do you know if you’ve had any biomarker testing done on your tumor or biopsy sample?
  • Do you understand biomarker testing and why it’s important?
  • Has your doctor discussed and explained biomarker testing to you?
  • Has anyone explained all of your biomarker test results and full report to you (these can be huge documents)?
  • Do you have access to or a copy of your full biomarker testing report(s)?
  • Do you feel fully informed and understand your disease and its care?
